Let the lower lights be burning; Send a gleam across the wave! Some poor fainting, struggling seaman you may rescue, you may save (Hymn #335).

My Testimony of Christ
Well, it's fast Sunday today, the first Sunday of May. The trees are blossoming, lawns are being mowed, gardens are being planted . . .hopefully it's a time where our testimonies are growing as well. Today I would like to share at least some of my testimony.
My testimony is centered around our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I know he volunteered and was chosen to come to earth. I know he lived, ministered, and blessed others' lives like no other man could have. He suffered in Gethsemane and died on the cross, atoning for all of our sins and making it possible for us to repent and go back to live with Him. I know he was resurrected, and that because he was resurrected we can all be resurrected as well. I know He loves us all. I've felt His love in my life. Sometimes life is hard. All kinds of trials are thrown our way. There have been times where I have wanted to give up on school, on church, on relationships with family and friends, etc, but Jesus is always there watching out for me, and when life gets me down, he lifts me back up. One of my all time favorite scriptures is Helaman 5:12, which says:
"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."
Christ is a sure foundation. If you base your life around him, you can withstand anything and everything that is thrown your way. Any who come to Him, accept His gospel, and live by His commandments can surely live with him again. I am deeply grateful for what He has done for me and all of mankind, and I want to be able to make him proud. I want to come out of this life, and have him say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:21).
I figured this aspect of my testimony deserves at least one whole blog post. I wish I was more eloquent, and that I could explain better what Christ means to me. I remember Alma, who said, "O that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart, that I might go forth and speak with the trump of God, with a voice to shake the earth, and cry repentance unto every people...that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth" (Alma 29:1-2). I want everyone to know He's there, watching, waiting for us to come unto Him. I'd like to bear witness of these things in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.
Thanks for reading. Later I will be sharing some more specific stories of how Christ has blessed my life. This is Scotty, and remember, Jesus loves you no matter what!
Cause this is not about what you've done,
But what's been done for you.
This is not about where you've been,
But where your brokenness brings you to,
This is not about what you feel,
But what He felt to forgive you,
And what He felt to make you loved.
