Well everyone, this is my first blog post. I figured Easter Sunday was a good day for it - considering the goal of my blog here. So . . . almost 2000 years ago now our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was risen from the dead after dying for all mankind. Since he died for me, I figure I owe him a little back, you know. When I think about it, if I want someone to do something for me, I generally want help accomplishing some goal or something I need to get done. Like when my brother helps out with my chores when I'm sick. Or a friend picks up a homework assignment for me when I miss class. Moses 1:39 says: "For behold, this is my work and my glory - to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man." So how can I help bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man, thus helping God in his big goal? Dieter F. Uchtdorf once said, "My dear young friends, perhaps the Lord’s encouragement to 'open [your] mouths' might today include 'use your hands' to blog and text message the gospel to all the world!" (see General Conference of April, 2011). Well, that's what I want to do with this blog. I'm just a Mormon teen, going to school at a tiny school in the middle of nowhere, maintaining the ranking of first in my class, driving 15 minutes both ways to seminary every morning, acting in the drama club, working at the theater during the weekends . . . okay, so maybe I'm involved in a lot. One thing I'm sure of: I'm not a typical teenager (most Mormons aren't). I'm not saying that's a good or bad thing - I'll let you decide that as you read my posts. I've got some stories to share though. I hope to inspire other people to become better people and grow their testimonies, while growing my own through writing and sharing. There is so much more I want to share . . . but those things will come in later posts. For now, Happy Easter everyone! This is Scotty with "A Light Along the Shore" Remember: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:16)

I never said that I was more than that,
I'm not a wannabe, I'm who I wanna be,
And I intend to be how You created me"
